African Infrastructure BANK Launched to Transform Africa’s Infrastructure Landscape
Kenya & DRC as well across Africa – Today marks the official launch of the African Infrastructure BANK, a pan-African financial institution dedicated to delivering innovative, sustainable, and impactful infrastructure solutions across the continent. With an initial capital commitment, the Bank aims to foster stronger connectivity, drive economic growth, and generate long-term value for African nations and communities.

Strategic Focus Areas:

- Green energy transition: support solar, wind, and grid optimization to meet Africa’s clean energy needs.
- Digital infrastructure: enhance connectivity through broadband expansion and data-driven platforms.
- Urban resilience: develop sustainable water, sanitation, transport, and housing infrastructure in fast-growing cities.
Governance & Partnerships:
The Bank is governed by a board comprising finance ministers and infrastructure experts from its founding member states. It will work closely with the African Union, African Development Bank, Afreximbank, private equity, and local stakeholders.
The launch is accompanied by a high-level inaugural meeting in Cairo, bringing together government representatives, international development partners, and industry leaders to endorse the Bank’s strategic roadmap.
